Patricia Harris

Patricia Harris is a community social entrepreneur and organizational consultant with over 20 years experience in communities in the areas of organizational development, economic development and youth development initiatives. She has held leadership positions in the non-profit and for-profit sectors in Illinois, Minnesota, Michigan and Georgia; and is the CEO of CP Harris Associates Consulting Firm.

Ms. Harris is the executive director and chief executive officer of Cobb Microenterprise Center, an organization that provides entrepreneurial training and development to fledging business owners, micro business owners who are low to moderate-income; access to capital through a micro loan fund and other financial entities, procurement processes, business technology, and assistance to growth and expansion businesses.

She is one of the founders and the Immediate Past Chair of the Georgia Micro Enterprise Network, a statewide microenterprise trade association that provide training, funding, legislative advocacy, policy advocacy, mentorship, and access to services that will enhance the development of microenterprise programs that serve low to moderate income people throughout the state.

Patricia has to her credit a published work in personal empowerment curriculum and video presentation tapes, titled: “Let’s Begin From Scratch,” 1996. She has written numerous economic empowerment and business development articles. She is a known speaker on social enterprise, business development and microenterprise development.

Under Ms. Harris' leadership, Cobb Microenterprise Center has been the recipient of the Former President Carter's Community and Campus Partnership Award; SBA Models of Excellence - Vision 2000 Award; Home Loan Federal Bank Community Award; United Way Community Award; HUD's Best Practice - Simply The Best Award; Ms. Collaborative Fund Award; SBA PRIME (Programs for Innovation in Microenterprise) Award; SBA Women’s Business Center; Business to Business Diva 2002 Award; and YWCA of Cobb Women of Achievement Award.

Volunteer positions include: Association for Enterprise Opportunities (AEO) Standards and Accreditation Committee - member; Atlanta Union Mission Microenterprise – board director; Cobb County Workforce Investment Board, Department Of Labor – commissioned board director; DeKalb Economic Business Development Corporation (DEBCO) - board director; President Elect 2006 of ProWIN (Professional Women’s Information Network) in Atlanta; and founding partner and board director for The GettingAhead Association.

She has degrees in organizational development and business management and a degree in music theory and voice performance. She is also the recipient of an organizational development fellowship whereby she studied in Europe at the Landmark Center – “The Forum.”
